The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service is the department of the Scottish Government responsible for investigating deaths and undertaking prosecutions in the public interest. It is headed by Scotland’s chief legal officer, the Lord Advocate. The web site explains the role and organisation of the department and provides contact details for each Procurator Fiscal’s office.
