The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), chaired by Professor Alexis Jay, is investigating the extent to which institutions in England and Wales failed to protect children from sexual abuse. Established in 2014 originally as a panel inquiry, IICSA was reconstituted in 2015 as an independent statutory inquiry.
