Bora Laskin Law Library: Women's Human Rights Resources Programme

A collection of links managed by the Bora Laskin Law Library at the University of Toronto. There are annotated links to articles, conventions, UN reports, NGO reports, case law and legislation (some full text) on women's international human rights law arranged by subject. The site also includes research guides, bibliographies and the Women's Human Rights Resources Database, a database of hundreds of resources including articles, documents and links.

Gender Recognition Panel

The Gender Recognition Panel, established under the Gender Recognition Act 2004, assesses applications from transsexual people who wish to be legally recognised in their acquired gender. Policy on gender recognition and the Gender Recognition Act are responsibilities of the Ministry of Justice. This section of the Justice portal site includes: information on the application process, forms, and guidance; a list of specialists in the field of gender dysphoria; information for medical practitioners and chartered psychologists; and links to relevant legislation, significant court judgments and recommended web sites.

Home Office: Equalities

The Home Office has lead responsibility for issues relating to women, sexual orientation and transgender equality matters, and has responsibility across government for equality strategy and legislation. The Government Equalities Office (GEO), formerly an independent department, merged with the Home Office in April 2011, and was transferred to the Department for Culture Media and Sport in September 2012. The Equalities section of the Home Office site has information about the work of the GEO including the Equality Act 2010. Other content includes the latest annual report and a selection of publications. There is a link to the old GEO web site, archived by the National Archives in June 2011, and a link to the DCMS Equalities page for information after 4 September 2012.
