Acas
Acas (the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) is a non-departmental public body whose purpose is to promote and facilitate strong employment relations in the UK. The site's Publications section, which can be found within "Advice and Guidance", includes annual reports 1999-2000 onwards, codes of practice, research papers, and a variety of advisory handbooks, booklets and leaflets which can be downloaded free or bought as hard copy. The publications are also indexed via the "Advice A-Z" section.

Central Arbitration Committee
The Central Arbitration Committee is an independent body which exercises certain statutory powers relating to the recognition and derecognition of trade unions, and determines certain kinds of disputes between trade unions and employers. It also provides voluntary arbitration in industrial disputes. The site has decisions from June 2000 onwards, details of forthcoming hearings, press releases, recent annual reports, guidance and forms.

Certification Officer
The Certification Officer performs various roles in the regulation of trade unions and employers' associations, including the determination of complaints concerning trade union elections, certain other ballots and breaches of trade union rules. Site content includes all decisions made after August 2001, together with selected earlier key decisions; annual reports 1999/2000 onwards; guidance; and lists of trade unions and employers' associations, with links to those having their own web sites.

Daniel Barnett's Employment Law Archive
Daniel Barnett is a barrister specialising in employment law at Outer Temple Chambers. This weblog comprises an archive, April 1999 onwards, of his free employment law bulletins. Emplaw Online
The free section of this site, accessible via "Free Law Guide", provides basic information about British employment law in the form of a large number of brief articles accessible via the index at the left of the page. There are also notes on the main employment-related Acts, links to Bills and Statutory Instruments and a list of summarised cases. The site is updated daily, with Weekly Updates also available by email. An enhanced subscription service is also available. Emplaw was acquired by the publishers Nova Law & Finance in 2011.

Employment Appeal Tribunal
The Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) is a superior court of record, with jurisdiction in England and Wales and Scotland, which deals with appeals from decisions of the Employment Tribunals, the Certification Officer and the Central Arbitration Committee. On the site itself there is procedural information, guidance, and an unofficial consolidated version of the Employment Appeal Tribunal Rules 1993. Links are provided to relevant material elsewhere which includes full text judgments July 1999 onwards and cause lists, both on the Tribunals Judiciary site.

Employment Cases Update
Employment Cases Update provides a free database of employment law judgments from the Employment Appeal Tribunal, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, January 2010 onwards, with judgments appearing on the site within a week of publication. There are also updates on legislative changes and occasional employment law articles, and a weekly email newsletter is available. Employment Tribunals
Employment tribunals determine disputes between employers and employees over employment rights. Information on the site includes downloadable forms and booklets relating to employment tribunals in both England & Wales and Scotland. There are links to procedural rules on the Legislation.gov.uk site. There are no decisions on this site, but information on obtaining copies of decisions is available via the Employment Tribunals enquiry line, whose telephone number may be found in the pdf document "Public Register Visitor Information (Bury St. Edmunds)", under Bury St. Edmunds in the alphabetical list of Venues.

European Agency for Safety and Health at Work
The European Union's Occupational Safety and Health Agency (EU-OSHA) was established in 1996. Its web site has links to EU legislation and proposed legislation, recent news, documents from research programmes, and other information relating to occupational safety and health. The Publications section includes annual reports 1996 onwards, factsheets, reports, and other publications. "Press and Multimedia" includes press releases 1999 onwards.

European Commission: Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion
This is the web site of the European Commission's Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, which is concerned with employment and social policy within the EU, including anti-discrimination measures. The "Document Database" includes links to legislation, consultation documents, newsletters, recent news and other documents from 1990.

Although much of the material on the web site of the Federation of European Employers is restricted to Federation members, the "Employment Law" section provides information about European Union employment law and the workings of the European courts, linkes to EU legislation, and a glossary.

Gangmasters Licensing Authority
The Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA) was created under the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 to curb the exploitation of workers in the agriculture, forestry, horticulture, shellfish gathering, and food processing and packaging industries. There are public registers, codes of practice, guidance, newsletters, information on licensing procedures, and links to legislation.

Harassment Law

Health and Safety Executive
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is a non-departmental public body responsible for the encouragement, regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety and welfare in England, Wales and Scotland. The site's Legislation section, found on the "About HSE" tab under "HSE's work", includes lists of relevant Acts and Statutory Instruments, with links where possible to Legislation.gov.uk texts, together with a link to the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 as amended. The Enforcement section, also under "HSE's work", has searchable databases of enforcement notices issued by HSE and of successful convictions obtained from HSE prosecutions. Other content includes consultations 2000 onwards, guidance, codes of practice, annual reports 2001/02 onwards, leaflets, newsletters, and press releases.

Industrial Law Society
The Industrial Law Society is a registered charity which aims to promote the understanding of labour law and industrial relations, and to provide a forum where all those involved in employment law can meet to exchange views. There is a list of past papers 2006 onwards, the full texts of which may be downloaded. Registration is required, but is free.

Industrial Tribunals and the Fair Employment Tribunal, Northern Ireland
Industrial Tribunals in Northern Ireland hear and determine claims relating to a range of employment matters, including unfair dismissal, breach of contract, and discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, sexual orientation and equal pay. The Fair Employment Tribunal hears and determines complaints of discrimination on the grounds of religious belief and/or political opinion. The site contains main decisions, in a searchable database, from the beginning of 2007 onwards. Information booklets may be downloaded from the Publications & Statistics section. In the Useful Information section there are links to relevant legislation on the Legislation.gov.uk web site.

International Labour Organization
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is a specialised agency of the United Nations which promotes labour rights and the decent treatment of working people. Select "Statistics and databases" to access ILO's legal databases. These include NORMLEX, a database of international labour standards (ILO conventions, recommendations, ratification information, etc); and NATLEX, a database of national labour, social security and related human rights legislation.

Labour Web is a European labour law site produced by the Massimo D'Antona Centre for the Study of European Labour Law at the University of Catania (Italy). It includes current and proposed directives, EU case law and other documents, EU press releases and statistics, and also relevant material from member states and international organisations.
