This court is an independent judicial body set up in 2002 by the United Nations and the government of Sierra Leone to "try those who bear greatest responsibility" for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Sierra Leone after 30 November 1996 during the Sierra Leone Civil War (1991-2002). Documents include rules of procedure and evidence; practice directions and directives; annual reports; press releases; recent monthly newsletters; and full documentation, including judgments and transcripts, relating to both concluded and ongoing cases.
