Tackling Drugs Changing Lives

This Home Office website, archived in April 2010 by the National Archives, had the aim of providing drugs professionals with the latest news and guidance from government about its drug strategy.

Takeover Panel

The Panel on Takeovers and Mergers is the regulatory body which administers the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers. Documents on the site include the Code, the Rules Governing Substantial Acquisitions of Shares, Panel statements, practice statements, current and recent public consultation papers, and all annual reports since the Panel's inception in 1968.

Tax and Chancery Chamber (Upper Tribunal)

The main function of the Tax and Chancery Chamber of the Upper Tribunal is to decide applications for permission to appeal and appeals on points of law from decisions of the First-tier Tribunal in tax and charity cases. It was established on 1 April 2009 as a superior court of record with UK-wide jurisdiction, and on 6 April 2010 took over additionally the functions of the former Financial Services and Markets Tribunal (FSMT) and Pensions Regulator Tribunal (PRT). This section of the Justice portal site includes forms and guidance, links to procedural rules, registers of forthcoming hearings, and links to decisions on the Tribunals Judiciary web site.

Tax Tribunal

The First-tier Tribunal (Tax) hears appeals against decisions relating to tax made by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC). It was created on 1 April 2009, replacing four former separate tax tribunals - the General Commissioners of Income Tax, the VAT and Duties Tribunal, the Special Commissioners of Income Tax and the Section 704/706 Tribunal. This section of the Justice portal site includes forms and guidance, and links to procedural rules and other legislation. The Tribunal Procedure (First-tier Tribunal) (Tax Chamber) Rules 2009 are available in an unofficial consolidated version which incorporates amendments. There is a link to a database of decisions 2002 onwards (searchable April 2003 onwards), together with a few earlier ones, on the Tribunals Judiciary web site.

Tax Tribunal Decisions

The First-tier Tribunal (Tax) was established on 1 April 2009, replacing four former separate tribunals - the General Commissioners of Income Tax, the VAT and Duties Tribunal, the Special Commissioners of Income Tax and the Section 704/706 Tribunal. The decisions database here on the Tribunals Judiciary site includes decisions of the First-tier Tribunal (Tax) and also of the defunct tribunals, 2002 onwards (searchable April 2003 onwards), with a few selected earlier decisions.

Technology and Construction Court

The Technology and Construction Court (TCC) was formerly (before October1998) known as the Official Referees' Court. It deals principally with disputes arising in such specialist fields as engineering, technology and building. The TCC section of the Justice portal site provides judgments (via a link to the BAILII site), and guidance documents such as the Technology and Construction Court Guide and User's Guide to Adjudication.

Telegraph

The Telegraph web site includes material from print editions of both the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Telegraph as well as web-only content. Although the newspaper no longer publishes law reports, the web site features an RSS feed for "Law and Order" stories. There is a free archive from June 2000 onwards.

Tenant Services Authority

Tenant Services Authority (TSA) was the operating name of the Office for Tenants and Social Landlords (OTSL), the body which regulated social housing in England from 1 December 2008, when it replaced the Housing Corporation, until it was itself replaced on 1 April 2012 by the Homes and Communities Agency. Content of its web site, now archived by the National Archives, includes TSA Regulatory Judgments, within the Landlords section.

Tetley's Maritime & Admiralty Law

William Tetley is Professor of Law at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. The site contains an extensive collection of Professor Tetley's writings on admiralty law, maritime law, comparative law and conflict of laws. These include glossaries, articles, lectures and other materials. There is also a large collection of links to sites relevant to research in maritime law.

The Times

The Times newspaper gives considerable coverage to legal matters and is the only UK national daily newspaper still publishing law reports. The site has a dedicated Law section. Since June 2010 the online version of the paper is available by subscription only.

TheyWorkForYou.com

This web site allows users to search for information on MPs (voting histories, attendance records, expenses etc.). The text of  Commons debates goes back to the General Election of 1935; Commons written answers and written ministerial statements date back to the General Election of June 2001 and the House of Lords Debates from 1999 onwards. The site is run by a group of volunteers backed by a grant from a UK charity, UK Citizens Online Democracy.

Thirty Nine Essex Street: Costs Cases Online

The barristers' chambers Thirty Nine Essex Street provides this database of costs cases determined after 1 January 2005 which the compilers believe have value as precedents. Case summaries are provided in both very brief (browsable) and fuller versions. From the case citations in the fuller summaries there are links to the free, limited version of the online legal citator JustCite. There is also a free emailing service for summaries of last month's new cases.

Thirty Nine Essex Street: Environmental & Planning

Articles on environmental and planning law, 2002 onwards, by members of a set of chambers with expertise in this area. Elsewhere on the site there are digests of environmental and planning cases in which members of chambers have been involved.

THOMAS

THOMAS (named after Thomas Jefferson) is the main web site of the US Congress, providing information on House business and Bills. This includes Bill summaries 1973/74 onwards, full text 1989/90 onwards; Public Laws 1989/90 onwards; Congressional Record 1989/90 onwards; and Committee Reports 1995/96 onwards. There are details of treaties with legislative action taken (1967 onwards), plus a link to the Government Printing Office site where the full text of treaties (1995/96 onwards) may be searched. Also provided are links to historical documents and to other areas of government, and explanations of how various parts of the legislative process work.

Thomas More Chambers

Newsletters on employment law 2002 onwards and property law 2003 onwards are available here on the web site of Thomas More Chambers, a set of barristers' chambers in Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.

Thompsons Solicitors: Publications

Thompsons Solicitors is a UK law firm which specialises in personal injury law. Publications on the site include Thompsons Labour and European Law Review, published July 1996 onwards, originally as a monthly review of developments and currently as a biannual publication, with a weekly edition also available on the web site. It features comment on cases affecting trade unions and their members. Other site content includes information leaflets and guides relating to many aspects of personal injury and employment law.

Timeanddate.com

Extensive tabulated information and calculators relating to many aspects of time and dates. The "World Clock" in the Current Time section has current local times around the world. For all listed locations daily sunrise and sunset times are available, not just for the current year but also for earlier years, in some instances back to 1965. In the Calendar section there are yearly and monthly calendars for the years 1 to 3999. Other sections include an International Dialling Codes service, with information on dialling between many locations worldwide.

Traffic Penalty Tribunal

The Traffic Penalty Tribunal, formerly the National Parking Adjudication Service, decides appeals against parking penalties issued by Civil Enforcement Authorities in England (outside London) and Wales and against bus-lane penalties issued by Civil Enforcement Authorities in England (outside London). The site provides information on the appeal process, a selection of typical cases, annual reports 1999/2000 onwards, and links to the text of the Statutory Instruments which govern parking appeals in England and Wales (except London).

TransLex

TransLex is a research tool aimed at both professionals and academics. It is made up of four databases which can be searched or browsed: Principles, which contains over 120 principles and rules of transnational law; Bibliography, a selected collection of bibliographic references; Materials, a collection of domestic statutes, international conventions, model laws, restatements and other soft-law instruments; and Links, a collection of links to sites which are relevant for anybody doing research in transnational law and international business. The site is developed and maintained by CENTRAL - the Centre for Transnational Law at the University of Cologne, Germany.

Transport for London: Congestion Charging

Information on the traffic congestion charging scheme for central London which was introduced in February 2003. This includes a map of the congestion charging zone, details of payment methods, exemptions and discounts, and penalty charges. Relevant legal documents are in the "Publications" section. These include a consolidated version of the Greater London (Central Zone) Congestion Charging Order 2004, which provides the legal framework for the scheme.

Transport Tribunal

The First-tier Tribunal (Transport) hears and decides appeals against decisions of the Registrar of Approved Driving Instructors, and can also hear appeals for London service permits against decisions of Transport for London and resolve disputes over postal charges. It was created on 1 September 2009 and forms part of the First-tier Tribunal's General Regulatory Chamber. It took over the work of the former Transport Tribunal except for that relating to the Traffic Commissioners, which is now dealt with in the Upper Tribunal (Administrative Appeals Chamber). This section of the Justice portal site has forms and guidance, including procedural rules in an unofficial consolidated version which incorporates amendments. The Decisions section includes pdf digests, arranged by subject, of both First-tier Tribunal (Transport) and Upper Tribunal Traffic Commissioner appeals (respectively 2002 and 2000 onwards); and a link to a searchable database of decisions 2000 onwards on the Tribunals Judiciary web site.

Treasury Solicitor's Department

The Treasury Solicitor's Department provides legal services to government departments and other publicly funded bodies, and collects and manages bona vacantia on behalf of the Crown. Its web site includes lists of the Attorney General's panel of counsel and documents made available online under the department's publication scheme. A link is provided to the separate Bona Vacantia web site.

Trial of the Major War Criminals before the International Military Tribunal

Trial of the Major War Criminals before the International Military Tribunal, also known as the "Blue Series", is the official published record of the trial in Nuremberg of the major civilian and military leaders of Nazi Germany who were accused of war crimes. All 42 volumes are available as large downloadable PDFs from this page of the Library of Congress's Federal Research Division web site.

Trinidad and Tobago Law and Legal Research

This research guide to Trinidad and Tobago law, from the GlobaLex site, is contributed by Catherine A. Deane and Vincent Moyer, both of the University of California Hastings College of the Law, and was published November 2009.

Trusts, Settlements and Estates Manual

Online version of the Trusts, Settlements and Estates Manual (TSEM1000) published by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

TSO Shop

TSO (The Stationery Office - now part of the Williams Lea Group) is the major publisher of UK official publications, including all Parliamentary publications and Command Papers, legislation, the official Gazettes and other statutory publications. Not only official publications but any UK title in print may be ordered through this online shop site. Publications are browsable by subject, and forthcoming key publications are listed under "Coming Soon". Full text of all issues of the Daily List from January 2008 onwards are reproduced on the site.

TSO Shop: European Union

The Stationery Office (TSO) site's European Union page has lists of titles published by TSO and the Publications Office of the European Union (formerly the Office for Official Publications of the European Communities) during the last few years. There are basic and advanced search options and titles can be ordered online.

TUC: Employment Rights

This section of the Trades Union Congress web site includes briefing documents, reports, newsletters and press releases relating to employment law, 1999 onwards, via the menu at the left of the page.  There are also links to documents on a variety of other web sites. 

TUC: Equality Issues

This section of the Trades Union Congress web site includes briefing documents, reports, newsletters and press releases 1999 onwards, relating to discrimination in the workplace and elsewhere, including the TUC Guide to Equality Law 2011, and links to other sites relating to equality.

TurboScout

TurboScout allows a web search to be carried out on a choice of over 90 search engines in seven categories without retyping. By default it searches via Google, but results from the other search engines available can be accessed simply by clicking on their names.

Tynwald

Tynwald is the parliament of the Isle of Man. Its web site includes reports of debates ("Hansards") October 1997 onwards, votes and proceedings, official papers, information on progress of Bills, and standing orders.
